Harare– Zimbabwe’s Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party leader Morgan Tsvangirai dies from a South African hospital, Cape Town Times reports.
Tsvangirai suffered severe vomiting after a party meeting and was airlifted to a Johannesburg hospital a week ago.
News about the health of the opposition leader went viral on last week with most media outlets suggesting a stepdown and name his successor.
Zimbabwean political analyst Jonathan Moyo had earlier on hinted that Morgan Tsvangirai, who was to face Emmerson Mnangagwa on 2018 polls, may be forced to step aside due to illness.
Morgan Richard Tsvangirai is a Zimbabwean politician who was Prime Minister of Zimbabwe from 2009 to 2013. He is President of the Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai and a key figure in the opposition to President Robert Mugabe.
